A Cumbrian winery
High Cup Nick is one of the most impressive landforms in England. It forms the end of High Cup Gill, a classic U-shaped valley which runs westwards from the Nick to the Eden Valley. This dramatic scenery is the result of its unique geology and glacial history.
High Cup Gill falls within the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Along its northern edge runs the Pennine Way long distance footpath, which together with adjacent footpaths, provides a very interesting one-day circular walk. The route can also be cycled, but it is a difficult climb and a dangerous (or slow!) descent.
